Cynthia Sheppard

Corps de Ballet

Cynthia Sheppard joined Silicon Valley Ballet (then known as Ballet San Jose) in 2007. Her most recent repertoire with the company includes Balanchine's Serenade, Ohad Naharin's Minus 16, and Paul Taylor's Piazzolla Caldera. Other roles at Ballet San Jose have included the role of Maria in Dennis Nahat's The Nutcracker; the Spanish Princess in his Swan Lake;, Swanilda's friend in Coppélia; the Summer Fairy in Ben Stevenson's Cinderella; roles in Balanchine's Square Dance, The Four TemperamentsTheme and VariationsWho Cares?, and Allegro Brillante; Tudor's Continuo and Jardin Aux Lilas, Twyla Tharp's Nine Sinatra Songs; and numerous other ballets.

Ms. Sheppard was born in Southern California and received her training at Ballet Arts Center in Long Beach, Houston Ballet Academy, and the School of the Pennsylvania Ballet. Prior to Ballet San Jose, she performed with New York Theatre Ballet, Oakland Ballet, and Diablo Ballet.
