Alicia Alonso’s Giselle

Under the direction of Silicon Valley Ballet's Artistic Director José Manuel Carreño, SVB made history in October 2015, as the first American company to perform Alicia Alonso's legendary staging of this beloved classic ballet. This Cuban production of Giselle celebrates the rich Latino heritage of the internationally renowned Ballet Nacional de Cuba, and its founder, the iconic choreographer and prima ballerina assoluta, Alicia Alonso. In an historic moment celebrating the opening of relations between the US and Cuba, this production will be the first program presented by Silicon Valley Ballet under its new name.
