Primary Division

Primary Division classes promote creativity, discipline, and physical self-esteem while encouraging each child to reach their highest potential in a welcoming and energetic atmosphere. The Primary Division is an open-enrollment ballet program, offering one class a week for students ages 12 months-10 years old. Second weekly classes are available for interested students. Classes in the Primary Division are open to all students in the appropriate age range with no audition required.

Jr. Pre-Professional Division

For students ages 8 and older, classes in the Jr. Pre-Professional Division focus on building a solid foundation in ballet technique with an emphasis on proper placement and safe progressions of movement, while remaining sensitive to the developmental needs of younger dancers.  The Jr. Pre-Professional Division includes class levels 1A-3B in the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum. A placement class is required for placement in the Jr. Pre-Professional Division.

Senior Pre-Professional Division

Intended for students who strive for the level of excellence required to pursue a career in professional ballet, (whether or not that is a student’s ultimate career path), classes in the Senior Pre-Professional Division provide focused study in an elite atmosphere dedicated to the success of each student. Placement in the Senior Pre-Professional Division is by audition only. The Sr. Pre-Professional Division includes class levels 4A-6 in the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum, as well as the Silicon Valley Ballet Trainee Program. An audition or placement class is required for placement in the Sr. Pre-Professional Division.

Workshops and Master Classes

School Year Workshops and Master Classes include a Winter Workshop with Lorena Feijoo, a Spring Choreography Workshop, and Master Classes with José Manuel Carreño and other experts from onstage and behind the scenes.

Drop-In Classes

Open enrollment ballet classes for students ages teen to adult are available on a drop-in basis year-round, including classes for absolute beginners. As a new student your first class will be free.

Palo Alto Studio

Classes at the Palo Alto Studio are available for students ages 2-10 years old, featuring the same expert faculty as the San Jose Studio. A convenient location and plenty of parking make classes at the Palo Alto Studio ideal for busy Silicon Valley families.
