Tamara Mudarra

Corps de Ballet

Born in Havana, Cuba, Tamara Mudarra joined Silicon Valley Ballet (then known as Ballet San Jose) in 2014. She began her career as a soloist with Laura Alonso's Pro Danza until she signed on as principal with the National Ballet of Ecuador and subsequently with the National Ballet of Panama.

Her major roles as Snow Queen and Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Kitri and Mercedes in Don Quixote, and Aurora and Lilac Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty have all been met with critical acclaim. A prizewinner at the prestigious International Ballet Competition of Havana, she trained at the National Ballet School of Cuba. She was also a winner at the 2011 Stars of the 21st Century International Ballet Competition.
